Daniel boone Carter was born on Feb 2, 1897 in Monroe, TN. His father, Thomas Carter, was fifty three and his mother, Almeda Breeden, was 39. He had two brothers and seven sisters. He married Ida Nella Stout on Sept. 10, 1921 (by Rev S.T. Willocks -per Wanda Phelps). They had four sons and five daughters. Their first daughter, Gladys, died while an infant. In the 1920's he was an iceman delivering ice by wagon pulled by a horse. Also over the years he had vaious jobs. In 1946 he worked at the atomic energy plant in Oak Ridge, Tenn., and later at ALCOA. Most of all, and later in life, he was a farmer. (per Wanda Carter, 6/2002). One of Daniel's sons is Ralph Eugene Carter who is a yDNA match with Guy Carter.
Daniel and Ida's youngest child and daughter is Wanda Helen Carter. Wanda is married to Thomas A Phelps, one of the families amateur genealogists and owner of this website.

Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, “North Dayton Chapel”, 5040 Frederick Pike at Needmore Road. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 P.M. Monday at the George C. Martin Funeral Home.
