Regarding Sarepta Turner's birth date:
10 Oct 1850 -- implied from the death certificate (age 64 in 1915).
1851-1852 -- the 1870 census (age 18)
1851-1852 -- the 1880 census (age 28)
1852 -- Vestal Fulp, citing the grave marker.
10 Oct 1852 -- Kristina Turner (2002).
Sep 1853 -- the 1900 census (age 46).
I'm still inclined to go with 10 Oct 1852. The death certificate was
very sloppy, and I can't help wondering about the condition of the guy
who filled it out!

Generation: 4
12. | Tyree TURNER was born in 1800 in VA; died after 1850 in NC. Notes:
Info from Brenda Roberts files:
Tyree was the only Turner listed on the census in Stokes Co 1820, but was married in Rockingham Co to Sally Stephens 16 Sept 1819 -
=======================
Info from Kristina Turner files:
On July 20, 1870 he was in Rockingham Co, Mayo Twp. as listed in 1870 NC census. He gave the middle name as "T" in that census.
Tyre was 71 years old. His wife Mary [Glenn] was 61
Son John was 19, and John's wife, Sarepta [Plummer] was 18.
He apparently died before 1880 census, as he was not listed with his widow and son John R. that year.
He was listed as dead on his son Jas P. Turner's marriage license application on April 22, 1885.

More info from Kristina Turner:
It's true the Neal, Turner, & Glenn clans were Very intertwined..!!!
[William Neal (1804-1887) 'Could' be George's GG Grandfather - if, indeed,
HE was the father of Harriet Knight (bastard d/o- Malinda Knight)
The other candidate was John Fulp !!]
No, I do not know if Tyre's 2nd wife, Mary Glenn, was born a Glenn.... Per
census data she was b.c.1809 NC and died after the 1880 census....
I've always wondered about the 'H & R' in her son's name -- John H____ R____
Turner (1850 -1889) Could the H & R be a clue about Mary's father -- OR
even Tyre's father !!????
If Mary (Glenn) Turner died in Stokes Co. [while living with her son] then
perhaps she's buried there rather than in Rockingham Co...?? I doubt we'll
ever find Mary's or Tyre's graves. My 'gut' feeling is that Tyre & his
first wife Sally (Stephens) Turner were in Sardis Baptist Cem. - their
stones now long gone......
=============================================
Tyree married Mary GLENN on 27 Dec 1849 in Rockingham Co, NC. Mary was born in 1810 in NC. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

13. | Mary GLENN was born in 1810 in NC. Notes:
SOI: 1850 Census and R'ham Co Mar Recds
Notes:
Notes from Brenda Roberts show Tyree's second marriage was to a Martha.
==============================================
According to Gunn's marriage bond index, Tyre Turner & Mary Glenn were
either bonded or married in Rockingham County on 27 Dec 1849. The
actual marriage bond is missing. Gunn cites another work, Index to
marriages 1790-1868, for this data.
