    Info from Kristina Turner files:
On July 20, 1870 he was in Rockingham Co, Mayo Twp. as listed in 1870 NC census. He gave the middle name as "T" in that census.
Tyre was 71 years old. His wife Mary [Glenn] was 61
Son John was 19, and John's wife, Sarepta [Plummer] was 18.
He apparently died before 1880 census, as he was not listed with his widow and son John R. that year.
He was listed as dead on his son Jas P. Turner's marriage license application on April 22, 1885.
    ================================================
    More info from Kristina Turner:
It's true the Neal, Turner, & Glenn clans were Very intertwined..!!!
[William Neal (1804-1887) 'Could' be George's GG Grandfather - if, indeed,
HE was the father of Harriet Knight (bastard d/o- Malinda Knight)
The other candidate was John Fulp !!]

No, I do not know if Tyre's 2nd wife, Mary Glenn, was born a Glenn.... Per
census data she was b.c.1809 NC and died after the 1880 census....

    I've always wondered about the 'H & R' in her son's name -- John H____ R____
    Turner (1850 -1889) Could the H & R be a clue about Mary's father -- OR
    even Tyre's father !!????

If Mary (Glenn) Turner died in Stokes Co. [while living with her son] then
perhaps she's buried there rather than in Rockingham Co...?? I doubt we'll
ever find Mary's or Tyre's graves. My 'gut' feeling is that Tyre & his
first wife Sally (Stephens) Turner were in Sardis Baptist Cem. - their
    stones now long gone......
