there is no direct proof on the document. It is interesting to note

A while back I sent you the death cert for a John William Rhew. I
suspected that this was "our" guy, but there was not enough info on the
document to prove it. The following obit proves that it is indeed
"our" guy:

Death notice, Greensboro Daily News, Wednesday, 9 Dec 1959, p. B4:

John W. Rhew Is Dead At 77

John W. Rhew, 77, died at noon yesterday at his home, 3707 Phillips
Park, after an illness of 18 months. He was a retired grocer and a
member of the Buffalo Baptist Church.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday ... with the Rev. G. W.
Wilson, pastor of the Corliss Street Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Midway Cemetery, off the Huffine Mill Road. ...
Surviving are his wife, the former Scottie Lewis; six sons, Albert,
Herman, Bernest and Stedman Rhew of McLeansville, William Rhew of
Greensboro and Harrison Rhew of Burlington; two stepsons, Charlie W.
and Lee Stewart of Greensboro; two daughters, Mrs. Lera Smith of Winter
Park, Fla., and Mrs. Onida Smidth of New Castle, Pa., tow
stepdaughters, Miss Elizabeth Stewart and Mrs. Lucille Smith of
Greensboro; one brother, Kuby Rhew of Greensboro; one sister, Mrs. Veda
Russell of Greensboro; 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
