7/17/17 The Phelps Reunion was held on Sunday July 16th with approx 40 people in attendance. The reunion date will change next year from the third Sunday in July to the third Sunday in August (Aug 19, 2018). It will continue to be held at the Mentor Community Center in Mentor, TN. Please spread the word.
7/5/2017 Update...
In June we visited with Manfred Volpp and his family in Germany and collected a lot of additional information from several people. We have a whole new line of Volp's that start with Hanns Volp in the 1500's and go down two branches to Andreas Volpp in one line and Jurgen Volpp in another line. Everything has been sourced and is being added to the website. Look for the source document near the bottom of the individuals personal page. The Phelps/Fulp line ties into this line with Georg Volp in 1640. He was born in Crispenhofen and moved about 7 miles to Sindringen when he was a young man. We have a birth record for Georg that shows his father was Hanns Volp. We are looking for additional sourcing information.
10/6/2016 - Manfred Volpp's yDNA test confirms that he is a match with our Volpp/Fulp/Phelps families. Manfred lives in Neunstadt which is near Sindringen, Germany where five generations of Volp's lived and owned vineyards. Manfred is our second confirmed Volpp cousin. Douglas Volpp lives in Florida. Our Volp/Fulp/Phelps story is being amended to include Manfred. The Family Story is located in the Album Section.
