1482 | Marsenne is living in Half Moon Bay and is coaching the freshman girls crew for Saint Ignatius College Preparatory in San Francisco. She is also attending Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont to obtain her teaching credentials to become a science teacher. She is currently plauged by daydreams of their wedding and daily life as a married couple. Dan is living in Pacifica and working in Oakland as a video editor for Cision. Dan has also caught the "bug" of wedding thoughts, thanks to Marsenne. They are both really looking forward to their wedding and being married, but are enjoying the engagement in the meantime! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ California Birth Index, 1905-1995 Name: Marsenne Elizabeth Torchia Birth Date: 16 Apr 1985 Gender: Female Mother's Maiden Name: Torchia Birth County: San Mateo ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ How We Met Marsenne and Dan met while at a mutual friend?s birthday party in the summer of 2007 Marsenne had been hearing about the arrival of "the guys", but did not pay much attention until she saw Dan. She thought he was soooo cute and was instantly interested. She had to wait 10 minutes before her roommate and friend, Emily, introduced her to Dan ater realizing they had not met. Of course Marsenne acted like she didn?t notice but was secretly really happy to finally get a chance to meet and talk with Dan. Aparently, while all of this was happening with her..Dan walked into the party late (as usual) and noticed some new faces, one in particular. For some reason he was too shy to introduce himself right away, as he usually would. After waiting a little while he sat down next to his friend Emily to say hi, well aware that the girl he had his eye on was sitting on the other side of her. Realizing they hadn?t met yet, Emily introduced him to the girl named Marsenne. When We Got Engaged July 26, 2008 How It Happened Dan picked Marsenne up for lunch one Saturday (after she had repetedly changed her mind on what time she would be ready; unbeknownst to her she had continuously sent him away as he was trying to be ontime. However, since he was also trying to be stealth he played it off like he had not left home yet). Upon his arrival he nonchalantly asked her if she would like to go to lunch in Davenport (south of Half Moon Bay). She agreed. On their way down the coast on Highway 1, Marsenne realized that they would pass their "special spot": a place near San Gregorio Beach where they watched a Lunar Eclipse together at the beginning of their relationship. Marsenne suggested they pull over, since they had not been there since the eclipse. Dan willingly agreed since this was his plan all along; however, with Marsenne thinking it was her idea to pull over she would be even more clueless about his big plan. As they got near the beach, Dan pulled the car over to their spot and asked if Marsenne would like to get out. As she stepped out of the car, Marsenne heard Dan pop the truck and looked back to see what he was doing. She playfully asked him if he was getting a blanket (since they had so many blankets while watching the eclipse- it was cold that night!), "Actually, I am." he said. Marsenne saw the blanket that she had learned about only a month ago. It was at that moment that she realized what was happening. The quilt was one that Dan?s Grammy Jennie had made for him as a High School graduation gift. On the blanket were some "rules." The last rule read: "Only share it with the girl you plan to marry". Dan walked up to Marsenne, wrapped the infamous quilt around her shoulders and hugged her saying, "I love you." Dan proceeded to tell Marsenne the sweetest things (none of which either can remember as it was all a blur), then got down on one knee, pulled a ring box out of his back pocket, opened it to reveal a beautiful diamond ring and excitedly asked "Will you marry me?!?!" Marsenne said "YES!" jumped up and down and Dan asked her if he could put the ring on her finger and jokingly asked, "how would you feel about calling me your husband?" Marsenne smiled since 333 days earlier Dan had asked, "how would you feel about calling me your boyfriend," on the same spot. Dan then pulled out a bottle of sparkling cider and two wine glasses and they had a toast! They coninued on to Davenport for a celebratory lunch and then to both of the families houses to announce the engagement! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ California Birth Index, 1905-1995 Name: Marsenne Elizabeth Torchia Birth Date: 16 Apr 1985 Gender: Female Mother's Maiden Name: Torchia Birth County: San Mateo Source Citation: Birthdate: 16 Apr 1985; Birth County: San Mateo.
