2507 | Source: Richard Fulp research notes Dr. Elias Fulp was graduate of the University of NC & Medical University of New York City as a Medical Doctor and on 6/25/1892 was appointed Postmaster at Fulp Post Office in Stokes Co, NC. The Postoffice was moved to Forsyth Co 2/2/1903. The Postoffice reopened in the general mercantile store, belonging to Mr. Silas M. Johnson. The Postoffice soon closed, but the store operated for many years. Mrs. S. M. Johnson sold the store to Mr Ernest Fulp, Dr. Fulp's son, in the early 1940s. Dr. Fulp furnished the land and supervised the building of Fulp Moravian Church in 1893. Dr. Fulp was Postmster at Fulp, NC in 1892, moved to Forsyth in 1903, returned to Stokes in 1907. Dr Fulp was a Justic of the Peace. Dr. Fulp died 6/16/1924 and was buried at Fulp Moravian Cemetery. He was reinterred at "God's Acre" at Old Salem at the time of his wife's death in 1934. His wife is also buried at Old Salem. The train depot was across the road from the store, and was called Fulp Station. After the station was no longer in service, Dr. Fulp regained flag service from N&W Railroad. Railroad officials honored this as long as his descendants lived at Fulp. The original Fulp School was a one room frame structure. The building and one acre of land was sold to James A. Barker for $5.00 in 1899. The next Fulp school was located next to Fulp Moravian Church and served both Forsyth and Stokes Counties. The school had 2 rooms and served grades 1-3 and 4-7. Fulp School closed in the 1920s. The school was remodeled into a residence and is presently (1990) owned by the Augmon Nelson heirs. Dr. Fulp's home was owned by Mrs. Gladys Smith Brown in 1990. ============================================================================================================== | FULP, Elias (I5484)

2516 | Stephanie Ann peters harris told me thes 8/30/2010 It was funny - I set Stephanie and her husband Doss up on a "blind date." I told Stephanie where to meet him and to "dress up." Her father and his parents were to meet them too. I was working and running a little behind schedule and when I showed up - there was Stephanie in overall's and a Winnie the Pooh jacket and her hair in a pony tail. I couldn't believe it. But something clicked - they were married in no time! Doss is 6'9" tall and she is pretty short and they quite a couple. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PLEASE put in your report that Garland Doss Parker is NOT my husband anymore. You keep asking me about my husband. I am not married I don't care about using him as my son's father. Thank you. | STEWART, Stephanie Ann (I18272)

2525 | Taken from excerpts of a Miller Family Book (WFT #1326) Adam Miller was born in Virginia, Greenbrier County, on Muddy Creek Mountain. His father was the Henry Miller of these records and his mother was Barbara Arbaugh. He was born in 1806. Very likely he was named after his maternal grandfather, Adam Arbaugh, who was deceased about a half dozen years before Adam was born. Adam helped his father work on the farm and in the fields and woods. Adam remained in Virginia even after his father and many other members of his family left for Ohio to live. He stayed on for some years. Around 1847 he, with his family, moved to Symmes Township of Lawrence County, Ohio. He was the father of 13 known children, five by his first wife and eight by the second. He was a farmer by trade, and a member of the Methodist Church at Buffalo called Rehobeth. To this he was faithful. His neighbors always remembered him, even in his declining years being so punctual to pass by their homes with black hat and cane going to church. Three or more of his sons served in the Civil War. His son Harvey went, but did not return. Adam owned land in section four of Symmes, and the name Miller Hollow is used where he used to live. It is a branch off of Caulley Creek. | |

2531 | TAP43, To: PAUL CHASTEEN, Subject: Ida Belle Phelps Hi Paul, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was in Hawaii and then had a minor medical problem that kept me off the computer. My GG Grandfather is Henry Fulp/Felps/Phelps (1799-1860). I now have evidence that suggests he was the son of second generation, Valentine Fulps. That would make him an uncle of 3rd generation Valentine(1780-1865) who was the father of Solomon(1835-1901) who was the father of Ida Belle(1876-1954). That would make us about 4th or 5th cousins? I don't have my family "Tree" on Ancestry.com but would like to share info. I am currently researching the European ancestry of Georg Fulp, our first American ancestor.
