She told me of when Mama Alice [Mary Alice Phelps Peters] told her she wasn't 'really' her mother. Granny was still little...about 9 then. She told her Olga [Ova Olga Peters] was really her mother and Granny said she ran out of the house refusing to believe it... having been so shaken by it, they never mentioned it again! at all...for her entire life, until Granny decided to share it to her grown grandchildren...but I think only Mama's (Joyce Nell Amacker Talley) kids were told. She also told me that Mama Alice forbade contact with Bilbo? (Who we are pretty sure is the scoundrel)... but she found a whole stack of cards hidden under the seat of a car someone had in the family. It was letters and postcards and all the postcards had a clock on them...that must've been a secret message between them. Mama Alice burned them all. What I wouldn't do to have those cards!! ..But as a Mother, the pain she was put through by her child, I am sure I would have done the very same and not thought one second about historical anything! This story makes for a very good part in a book I hope to write one day :) Granny also told me once they (or either this was Olga & her siblings’ story, I've since forgotten this major detail, sadly)...but were left at home while the adults went into town on horse & buggy. A sweet lady came to babysit them. As this kind stranger took care of them for the best part of the day, the parents returned. As they came to the house, the lady was seen to be looking toward heaven and simply vanished & they could not find her. Sweet story and granny told it with precise, sincere truth in her voice...as matter of fact and nothing less. Granny told me that as Olga was a teenager, she became quite a Preacher at some of the tent meetings and brush arbor gatherings. I about fell off my chair to learn that, but it was something that I could tell made Granny very proud, but felt she'd definitely walked away from a tremendous call on her life as a minister. If I'd not heard Granny tell me this, I'd not believe it. "Aunt" Olga was very different than Granny, in regard to being a devoted & vocal Christian. I hear myself sometimes mimic Granny as she ends things she was doing with a reverential "Jesus, Jesus". Granny had severe osteoporosis in her aging years, but the women of Poplarville must've known who my grandmother was, as a lady of God. Granny told me she'd met one of the ladies from the Baptist Church while working at the hospital as a nurse’s aide. This lady was in charge of the women's bible study. She asked Granny to come speak after having spoken with Granny to realize she held deep faith in God. I was very surprised to hear Granny would do this! She told me how she shared with them how God healed her and they all cried as she told her story...how God healed her of pain in her legs that hurt so badly & she had heard the Lord tell her to open His Word, lay it on her legs and she'd be healed. Granny said it was a total miraculous deliverance from pain. As Granny ended up in a nursing home in the end, the doctors x-rayed her legs and marveled at how it could even be possible for her to have walked, the bones were so porous. The family remained in Indiana long enough for two members to be born, a son and a daughter, before coming back to Ohio. Before 1870 John moved to Washington Twp., Lawrence Co., Ohio and farmed his own farm he had purchased and was there for the census of that year. Around 1872, John and Winifred sold their land in Washington Township, and with all the children that were alive, except sons Eli and Howard, moved to Pulaski County, Missouri. Their daughter Rachel, married to James Lanthorn, with their family and Isaac Newton (Newt) and his wife and child also went along. There were others also. They found land, they found work, but tragedy struck the Miller family. Four of their children died, one of them burned to death, and John himself took sick and lingered awhile before dying. 381	(From WFT #1326) Adam in his will, named all his children, giving the family names for his married daughters. He mentions Mary as his wife. His will was made in 1798 and was probated in 1800. The Arbaughs were of German origin. They used various spellings for the name: Orbaugh, Orbau, Oback and other forms have been used. They very likely came from Pennsylvania to the Valley of Virginia where we find them located at the time of the Revolution. Two daughters of Adam Arbaugh married in the county of Shenandoah, 1785 and 1787; he is mentioned in the records of Augusta. He was in the military district headed up by Adam Rader. By 1792 he was living with his family in Greenbrier County, Virginia where three more of his children have marriage records.	ARBAUGH, Adam (I60632)
382	(From WFT #1326) The wife of Henry Miller was the daughter of Adam Arbaugh. This is proven by Adam's will, and Barbara's marriage; both of which took place in Greenbrier County, then Virginia, now West Virginia. Adam in his will, named all his children, giving the family names for his married daughters. He mentions Mary as his wife. His will was made in 1798 and was probated in 1800, which was four years after the marriage of Barbara to Henry Miller. She was the mother of five sons and three daughters. The boys were Isaac, Michael, John, Adam and George. Girls were Delphena, Elizabeth and Nancy. George was said to have been the youngest of her children. This is bourne out by the ages found for the children in later census data. Delphena was the oldest daughter and Isaac the oldest son. Barbara's name appears on various land deeds with that of her husband. Barbara died about 1815. The place of her burial has not been found, nor yet that of her parents. The story handed down is that she was buried in the Fleshman or Richland cemetery. This would be in Greenbrier County.	ARBAUGH, Barbara (I60631)
383	(Jack) bought a tract of Approximately 100 acres for $500 from James Glasgow of Alabama by his attorney, John Adair, with the deed dated 27 July 1813.The original home built in 1816 by Jack was a two-story dwelling of matched hand-hewn logs. The double fireplace was fourteen feet square at the base and the floors and beaded joints were comparable to machine-planed lumber. By the time the property passed through his son Royal to Grandsons Robert and Isham G., the property had increased to more than 300 acres of fine land and much timber. In 1904 three million feet of lumber was cut and sold to a company that was making a canal on the present site of Middlesboro, Kentucky. The farm had natural springs to provide an unfailing supply of water. In 1916 there was a deluge that washed out one of the strongest springs sending down tons of gravel and logs to the field below. Robert, as the sole owner of the farm, in 1907,built a large house of twelve rooms to accommodate his growing family. A large porch in front and a landscaped yard offered a fine view of the town at the foot of the hill. Buried in the Leabow Cemetery. The Cemetery is cared for by Jeremy Davis, Davis Auto Parts. The Leabow house burned about 2007. From information in a will book in Grainger county,Tennessee.Page 64-65,WPA 1938.
