Fran was born on September 26, 1949 in Kosciusko, Miss., daughter of the late Charles T. and Doris E. (Peters) Fletcher. She earned a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Mississippi, and taught music in Mississippi and in Boston, with an emphasis in choral music for 15 years. She moved to Pittsburg 15 years ago, and taught music at the Pittsburg Elementary School for the past 11 years before having to leave the position because of health reasons. She was very active in community events, participating in the Colebrook music festivals and playing the piano in the jazz ensemble. She also participated in the Pittsburg Elementary School musical productions; performed as a dining room pianist at the Balsams Grand Resort Hotel in Dixville Notch; and played organ for the Monadnock Congregational Church in Coleqbrook, the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, and the Grace United Methodist Church in Canaan. She was a published composer in Christian music publications, and most recently had a compilation of her music available for sale under the title "Smooth Piano." Fran is survived by her three children, Joha, Jonathan and Jerusha Turner, all of Pittsburg, and their father, John Turner, also of Pittsburg; two brothers, Steve Fletcher of Houston, Texas, and John C. Fletcher of Kosciusko, Miss.; three sisters, Grace Fletcher of Kosciusko, Miss., Sharon Boyd of Friday Harbor, Wash., and Susan Gibbons of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. at the Monadnock Congregational Church in Colebrook, with The Rev. Rebecca Larson and Pastor Priscilla Hull co-officiating. An interment service will be held in the spring at the Lakeside Cemetery in Pittsburg. Expressions of sympathy in Fran's memory may be made to the Fran Turner Fund, c/o Pastor Priscilla Hull, Trinity United Methodist Church, 28 Bridge Street, Colebrook, NH 03576. This memorial fund has been established for the benefit of Fran's children. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jenkins Funeral Home in Colebrook. 962 | Died pre 1880 census from Tom McElfresh notes: "The handwritten notes state that John David Lemons was first married to Eliza Ann Friddle (1843-1870). This is as I suspected. Data from other sources (incl "The Heritage of Rockingham County") indicate that Eliza Ann was the first child of Frederick Friddle (1820-1886) and Charity Keck (1821-1876). Eliza had a younger brother named David Rankin Friddle (1851-1926). David Rankin Friddle had two sons, James Weldon Friddle and David Lawrence Friddle, who married the daughters of Leonard Anderson Southern & Mary Elizabeth Caruthers." | LEMMONS, John David (I4782)
