  Rufus died at home of his sister, Veola in Forsyth Co, NC (VGF personal knowledge) SOI: b & d dates from Tombstone. Middle name was probably William as the 1880 Census list him as William R. Turner. Rufus had lots of property when he died - built lots of houses. Several were lost in fires. It would be interesting to locate his will to see who inheirted his assets.
