- He has no marker as his ashes were both buried and scattered under a tree where he used to sit at the hunting camp near his home in Anchor Lake.
Those were his wishes...he loved nature and stayed outdoors all the time.

Donald R Peters stated:My dad hunted and fished. His real passion was fishing. I guess he passed this on to me. I used to hunt and fish every opportunity I had. Three children, a wife, and business to run kept me busy for the longest. I was in a very bad accident in 2001 when I was run over by another boat. This resulted in life threatening injuries. That too has slowed me down considerably.

Richard D. Peters Memorial services for Richard D. Peters, of Carriere, are from 1 until 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at his home at 406 Lakeside Drive in Carriere. Picayune Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Peters, 66, died Oct. 6, 2008, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Survivors are a son, Donald Peters and wife, Maria, of Brookhaven; his two sisters, Shirley Alexander and Annette Wallace, both of Carriere, her three grandchildren, Daniel, Lauren and Lindsey.
