- Jonny Nobles served in the 82nd Airborne Division. He injured his back on one of his jumps . He went AWOL to visit his family and wife. When he returned he was put in the stockade and reduced in rank to a private. At the end of his 3-year enlistment he received a honarable discharge. He also served in Japan and the Korean War. He entered the service in 1944.
