Thelma M. Blankenship, 83, of Medford, died Saturday (Jan. 1, 2000) at Farmington Square in Medford. No service is planned. Interment was in
Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford. Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health
Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504, or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 698, Medford, Or 97501.
She was born Thelma M. Embrey on Oct. 4, 1916, in Waurika, Okla. On Aug. 1, 1935, she married Alva A. Blankenship, who died in 1977.
She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1945 from California. She moved to the Portland area in 1959; to Mesa, Ariz., in 1976; and returned to Medford in 1995. Survivors include a son, Donald W., Central Point; a daughter, Barbara A. Daniel, Livermore, Calif.; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
