- Age 16 - George Lunceford came to the Illinois Territory as a soldier under George Rogers Clark in 1778. After the surrender of Indian Chief Kaskaskia, July 4th, which transferred the N.W. Territory from King George III, to Virginia, he made his home here.
Age 17 - George enlisted in the Revolutionary Army, served three years in Captain Bailey's company of Regulars of the Illinois Regiment in the Virginia State Line under George Rogers clark, discharged 18 Feb 1783 as a private.
Age 29 - George was married to Nancy (Mary Ann) Judy, a Dutch girl, whose father had, a few years prior to Clark's expedition swung around along the Virginia and Kentucky side from Pennsylvania to Sugar Loaf, south of Cahokia, Illinois.
Age 46 - George Lunceford died December 8, 1808 at Sugar Loaf, Illinois
