  From Tom McElfresh notes of May 27, 2003: The handwritten notes state that John David Lemons was first married to Eliza Ann Friddle (1843-1870). This is as I suspected. Data from other sources (incl "The Heritage of Rockingham County") indicate that Eliza Ann was the first child of Frederick Friddle (1820-1886) and Charity Keck (1821-1876). Eliza had a younger brother named David Rankin Friddle (1851-1926). David Rankin Friddle had two sons, James Weldon Friddle and David Lawrence Friddle, who married the daughters of Leonard Anderson Southern & Mary Elizabeth Caruthers. ===============================================================
