  The Hostetter Family Home Page Richard Leigh Hostetter Jacob probably arrived in Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania in August of 1717. Among this group would be the Herr's, Kreider's and Funk's. (Emigrants, Refugees, and Prisoners, Richard Warren Davis,pages 35-43,) He settled in Lancaster County, PA at Engleside which is a little south of the present day Lancaster City. He eventually had a patent for 350 Acres of land.(Patent A-6-339, Division of land Records, Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, Harrisburg, PA.) He would also acquire land in Manor Township, Lancaster County for 475 acres(Patent A-9-338, Harrisburg.)
