- Mildred Stafford Angel
ANGEL KERNERSVILLE - Mildred Stafford Angel, 86, passed away Monday, June 25, 2007. She was born June 6, 1921, in Guilford County to the late Guy and Myrtle Phipps Stafford. Mildred was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kernersville. She retired from Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital as a certified nursing assistant. She then went on to work 10 more years at Bradford Village West. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Angel. Surviving are two sons, Gary Angel and wife Sara of Tampa, Fla., and Ronald Lee Angel Sr. and wife Sandra of Kernersville; a daughter, Lynn Berry, of Kernersville; two sisters, Margaret Perdue and husband Paul of Norfolk, Va., and Peggy Holder of Kernersville; a brother, Joe Stafford of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Clark Vincent officiating. The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home is assisting the Angel family.
