He was retired from the NC Security Commission, Agriculture Dept., after 30 years of service. At a later date, he and his wife operated Bowles Greenhouse & Shrubbery in Walnut Cove for approx seven years before moving to Naples, FL in 1980. He was a veteran of WWII with an honorable discharge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Naples.

Barlow married Hazel Ida FULP on 28 Jun 1941. Hazel (daughter of William Martin FULP and Grace LINVILLE) was born in Feb 1918. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
